Whether we are adopted by our earthly parents or our Heavenly Father, we become engrafted branches. We were all chosen by God, created for His purpose to live a life that glorifies Him. The symbol has three circles to symbolize the child and both sets of "parents". The heart wraps around the entire family and they are all with Christ.
For he chose us in him, before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ... Ephesians 1: 4-5
