Know as a Camargue Cross or Cross of the Cowherds, this cross which originated in the South of France, is composed of three emblems, an anchor for hope, the cross for faith in Christ and His resurrection, and the heart, which signifies the cardinal virtue of charity. The unusual shape of the upper cross is representative of the trident-shaped tool used by the Gardians, or bull herders (cowboys) who make up a large part of Camargue's cultural legacy. This piece was interpreted by the in an ancient looking rectangular pendant which has the words Faith, Hope, Charity inscribed on the back. It hangs to 3/4" long with the jump ring, and is slightly less than 1/2" wide. It is featured on the 18" 1.3 mm Oxidized Venetian Box Chain, and can be placed on other chain selections as well.
